"Upon leaving California for Benin, I started going on trips with my dad and my uncles. They had always been motorcycle riders but this time they were no longer riding solo. They were now part of a bikers club. I saw my dad's new collection of motorcycles and I instantly wanted to come along. Unfortunately, I noticed out here riding was a man's world. All the females who came on these trips with us were only female passengers. And I wanted to be more than that. I did not want to ride on the back anymore. So I convinced my dad to let me get my own motorcycle. I rode scooters in the past but this is nothing like it. At first, my height (5.0') and the weight of the bike made it seem impossible. However now riding feels amazing. I feel like I am unstoppable. I am breaking stereotypes and having fun doing it." Noeveda from Benin (West Africa), rides a Yamaha v-star xvs 650. 📸: @luquenum
