The Renowned Producer of Premium Motorcycle Parts and Luggage Systems Opened the U.S. Branch last year
It’s been an incredible first year of operations. Just over a year ago, SW-MOTECH USA switched on its ecommerce website allowing riders to order an unprecedented selection of SW-MOTECH products shipped directly from their Portland warehouse.
Initial interest was much higher than expected and the ability to order parts directly from inventory in Germany was also enabled for the USA site.
Demand escalated as COVID-19 set in, but the company experienced manufacturing delays from sick factory workers and raw material shortages. Shipping delays from container shortages and even the Suez Canal blockage further impacted the ability to produce and deliver products to riders. Throughout it all, many new and established patient customers continued trying and trusting SW-MOTECH products.
To celebrate this first milestone and show appreciation for their customers and the warm welcome the local Portland motorcycle community has extended, SW-MOTECH USA hosted a 1st Anniversary Celebration Open House: Bikes & Brats Brouhaha. Staff welcomed visitors to the Portland showroom and served up bratwurst from the BBQ. MotoQuest was on hand for a presentation and Q&A on everything a rider might want to know about planning an epic Alaskan motorcycle adventure. A special screening of the short film Any Oregon Sunday with an introduction by the producer, Tiffany Lindquist, rounded out the festivities.
Forward to 2022
SW-MOTECH USA has been expanding its team, adding additional customer service representatives to handle the increased support needed, and even more team changes are expected in 2022.
New U.S.-focused product offerings are coming for the Harley-Davidson Pan-America, BMW R18, and the new generation 3 Kawasaki KLR to name a few. All of these important bikes will have a full complement of luggage, protection, and ergonomic products offered for them in early 2022.
Also look for several new innovative products to be unveiled at the International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition (EICMA) next month, with availability in the U.S. by spring.
